What is Cold Brew?

It is a method of making coffee in which it is brewed with cold water instead of hot water. The result is a concentrated drink with a bright coffee flavor and high caffeine content. Cold Brew is most often made in the warm season and drunk chilled from the fridge.

The recipe is very simple: freshly ground coffee is poured over with cold water and infused for 8 to 24 hours, then filtered and placed in the fridge. Initially you try to make coffee with a ratio of coffee and water 1:4, then you start experimenting.

How to Make Cold Brew?

Two methods of making cold brew
Soaking - coffee is poured with filtered cold water and infused for 12 to 24 hours, and then filtered using a paper filter.

Dripping - coffee is brewed slowly, drop by drop in a special vessel. For brewing, a special device is used, consisting of several containers that are installed above each other. Cold water or ice water is poured into one, freshly ground coffee is poured into the other, the third is left empty for future drink. Water from the upper container drips into the lower one, passes through the coffee, is brewed and, ready-made, flows down to the lower one. The whole process takes up to 24 hours.

Cold-Brewed Coffee Recipe

You can use a French press to brew your coffee. It should be steeped for a night-long period. Then, utilize pressing down to insulate the available grounds. Pour your beverage into a vessel and preserve it in the coolest setting you can find.
Selecting the strength of your drink: This methodology allows making coffee of high strength. If you want to get it weaker, merely add fewer beans.

Essential ingredient set
1 cup coffee beans (113 gr.)
4 cups water (907 gr.)

Procedure
Provide coarse grinding of your beans. Use a coffee mill to perform the required operation or a grinder for spices. The obtained grounds should be of cornmeal size, but never powdered coffee. You need only a cup of coffee grounds.

Mix your coffee and regenerated water, using slow motion. Pour the obtained mixture into the vessel intended for getting the cold-brewed coffee. Add the required amount of water. Stirring slowly, you should achieve full saturation of the coffee ground with water. Get your beverage steeping for a night-long period
Put a lid of the proper size on your vessel to avoid insect or dirt insertion in it. Get your drink steeped for approximately 12 hours either in your fridge or in a cool place.

Filter your beverage. Use a piece of cloth and a vessel of large size to initiate a filtration procedure. Provide necessary storage of your coffee. Use a specially prepared vessel for keeping your drink in a cold place for about 7 days.

Utilize the preferred amount of liquid (water or milk) to weaken your beverage. Bring it with prefabricated ice cubes or heat it for some time, if you like it warm.

    Ensure that you use the coarse grinding method: Fine grinding of beans does not guarantee the proper effect of flavor as the taste turns extremely strong due to the long-running steeping of coffee beans. Avoid using a powdered substance. Focus on the big size of particles you get from grinding.
